This is one reason my machine has been so slow. I did this tweak and already notice a difference.

Synergy
There is a good little program called Synergy that lets you control multiple computers with one keyboard/mouse setup.
You need to install the program on all computers and choose one to be the server.
Here is a page with instructions and download links:
These instructions are to have a Mac as the server but I set up my PC as the server easily enough.
You can cut and paste from one to the other and link up the screen savers. I haven’t experimented past that.

BakerTweet from BakerTweet on Vimeo.
Everyone knows the best time to get your baked goods is when they’re fresh out the oven. So we figured that this could be a killer use of Twitter. Letting followers know that fresh goodies are ready right now. But bakeries don’t want laptops or phones lying around in the kitchen. Flour, eggs and technology don’t mix so well.
So we built BakerTweet.
It’s a bespoke piece of hardware (with Arduino-based guts) that allows our friends at Albion across the road to select what’s just been baked and ping the relevant Twitter message to local customers. Meaning that you can time your trips to Albion to pick up the freshest freshness.

Apparently Mozilla is going in a different direction than javascript for 3d and will be using a variation of opengl to add 3d functionality to its browser, hopefully safari and Chrome will take notice and incorporate this in the future.

With high level languages like Java/C# taking over the programming world, I thought I would never need to deal with them again after my C++/Lisp class in college.
However, if you want to do IPhone app, you need to understand pointers so you can manage precious memory resources. If you want to learn LINQ, you need to pick up lambda expressions. They will never go away.

It’s a tough call for CS students. C#/Java are so pratical that can get you a job quicker and easier. However, modern developers are almost spoiled by the ease of programming in Java/C# and forget about many other aspects of programming.
