Here’s Google’s sales pitch…

Gadget Ads act as websites within websites - anything you can do on a website you can do within a Gadget Ad - because they’re based on open-source AJAX technology. This allows anyone who can write HTML to build a gadget ad. What does that mean? The intent is to make web pages feel more responsive by exchanging small amounts of data with the server behind the scenes, so that the entire web page does not have to be reloaded each time the user requests a change. This is intended to increase the web page’s interactivity, speed, and usability.

I got a chance to visit the google offices to talk to them about Google Gadgets. The google offices are great. Free food, table tennis, pool, beach volleyball and I believe they work too.

This is a replica of Spaceship One which Sergey had installed one weekend while Eric was away. Removing the side of the building is no problem for Google. Shit, I’ve been asking for a lightbulb for a month round here.

The 20% rule kills me.  Fantastic idea that brought about Google News, AdSense and Orkut. Enlightened leadership indeed.
